What is Mimi Ikonn’s net worth — the co-founder of Luxy Hair?
Mimi Ikonn might not be a name that stands out in the world of YouTube pseudo-celebs—but the product that made her rich probably does.
Ikonn and her husband are the team that founded Luxy Hair.
Luxy Hair got into the hair extensions game early, and by 2021 they were one of the best-selling fake hair brands in the world.
Even Hailey Bieber and JLo have admitted to using Luxy products.
Now a self-proclaimed “dreamer,” Mimi Ikonn’s Luxy Hair channel has more than 3 million YouTube subscribers.
Her spinoff of channels, including EverythingLuxy, Mimi Ikonn, and Alex Ikonn, aren’t especially successful in their own right, and none of them have broken the 1 million subscriber mark over all these years.
But if you’re interested in what Mimi Ikonn has done aside from a line of hair extensions, here’s what we know.
The Origin Story
Mimi Naghizada was born on July 25, 1986, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Baku is the largest city in Azerbaijan, and its capital, and it sits on the coast of the Caspian Sea. It is officially the largest city in the world that sits below sea level, and it is home to more than 2 million people as of 2021. A quarter of all Azerbaijan’s residents live in Baku.
Mimi’s family—her parents and elder sister, Leyla—moved to Canada when she was in her teens, and the family settled there long term.
After graduating from high school in 2005, Mimi enrolled at Seneca College to do a degree in International Business.
She didn’t complete it, dropping out in her second year and enrolling at George Brown College instead.
Later, Ikonn would note in interviews and on resumes: “proudly dropped out of college after 1.5 years.”
This time she studied a certificate in Image Consulting—a simple one-year course.
She graduated in 2009 as a certified image consultant.
A Very Canadian Love Story
After studying image consulting, Mimi struggled to find a job in her field.
She says she was “forced by life into this situation” where she went to work at a bank.
She was officially a part of the corporate wheel, working for one of the big four banks in Canada at the time.
And there she met Alex Ikonn.
The tall Russian-born Canadian walked into her bank branch one day, with his ability to speak Russian and his charm and charisma, and Mimi was scared he would steal her customers.
Instead, he stole her heart.
They worked in the same branch, and got involved in an office relationship.
Eventually, it extended to the real world, and the pair got engaged.
They tied the knot in Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, in May of 2010.
Six years later, on October 7, 2016, they welcomed their first child into the world—a little girl named Alexa Love Ikonn.

The first time Ikonn ventured into the world of YouTube videos, she was nervous.
She shot the video on a digital camera and edited it on her laptop—and she’s the first to admit the quality was awful.
She and Alex decided to buy proper DSLR cameras and some lighting to do a better job, but those first videos were already getting hundreds of thousands of views.
Mimi compliments herself for being the same on camera as she is in person.
When she’s stressed or upset and fans approach her, she says, “I beam that light that they know and recognize.”
She says that she does a lot of inner work—like meditation and journaling—to balance herself and reflect on her own values.
All of this has helped her, in her own estimation, to become the type of celebrity she is now.
Describing themselves as “serial entrepreneurs” and “dreamers,” Ikonn and her husband have created many products in their efforts to get rich.
Aside from their monetized YouTube channels, and Alex’s involvement in the Five Minute Journal, Mimi also co-founded Dreamers & Creators, and runs several blogs.
Now living in London in the UK, Ikonn describes Dreamers & Creators as a marketing strategy firm and creative agency.
She claims the firm also specializes in branding and design for a “select few clients.”
The firm’s website offers no insight into who these clients could be, or what—specifically—the brand actually does.

Mimi Ikonn – Net Worth
Ikonn earned most of her wealth from founding Luxy Hair.
Luxy Hair experienced massive success. It filled a niche in the beauty market at an affordable price—and it was embraced by uber-celebrities like Paris Hilton, Hailey Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, supermodel Candice Swanepoel, and influencers Maddie Ziegler and Tammy Hembrow.
The Ikonns started the business in response to a need—an immediate need that Mimi had: she wanted “mermaid hair” for her wedding day.
In 2010, the company launched.
In 2018, it was acquired by Beauty Industry Group.
Lulu Liang, a corporate powerhouse who was only 25 years old at the time, stepped up as CEO—as a stipulation of the buy-out—and the Ikonns were out.
Therefore, Luxy Hair founder Mimi Ikonn has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
The Ikonns have one kid and only 10 years of marriage under their belts, but you can listen to their advice on maintaining a successful relationship post-kids here.
